Welcome

Welcome to the Grand Canyon Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS). Our chapter serves the Northern Arizona region.

NATS is a nonprofit organization that encourages singing of the highest quality and advances high ethical standards in the instruction of singing.  NATS also promotes vocal study at all levels, both for the enrichment of the general community and for the professional development of the gifted.

What's New and Exciting

The Grand Canyon Chapter of NATS hosted the the 2010-2011 Student Auditions this fall, November 5th and 6th. Please see the audition and forms page for important information.

Dr. Carol Kimball [read more] presented “Ramping Up the Song Recital,” on November 6, 2010. This presentation explored different ideas for rogramming song recitals. Various formats were presented in a slide/lecture presentation. Peripheral concerns such as the printed program were also included.

“…there is no reason to program a dull, garden-variety recital in a format
that does not inspire a musical and interpretively committed performance on the part of the singer, nor offer some entertainment value for the audience.”
- Carol Kimball
